Portugal won four awards in the worldwide tourism Oscars
Portugal won four awards in the World Travel Awards (WTA), known as the tourism “oscars”, which was announced on the last Saturday in Casablanca, Morocco – the awards are decided by vote of tourism professionals and of tourists. Madeira was elected the best insular world destination, Parques de Sintra was considered the best company in conservation, the Vila Vita Park hotel was elected the best ecologic luxury resort of the world and the Conrad Algarve hotel was elected the best leisure luxury resort of the planet.
Sintra was awarded too – for the third consecutive year – due to Parques de Sintra company, which have won the prize for the best world company in conservation.
With respect to hospitality, was awarded two five stars hotels in Algarve: the Vila Vita Park, in Porches, have won in the category of the best green luxury resort and the Conrad Algarve have won (again) in best leisure luxury resort.
In order to WTA data, they receive about 800 thousand votes coming from more than 170 countries.
