Golden Visas capture 1000 million of foreign investment until September

According to information provided by the Portuguese Confederation of Construction and Real Estate (CPCI) on 2nd October, the latest official figures of Golden Visas, for September, show a total of € 950 million raised by this program, of which 91%, or 864 million euros, relate to the purchase of real estate.

The Portuguese government earned 817 million euros with the golden visas

The Chinese lead the applications, with 1101 visas out of total of 1360. In 2014 twice as many permits were granted in 2013.

A Chinese company now controls Campofrío

Chinese company Shuanghui International Holdings reached an agreement with Smithfield Foods to acquire a stake of 36.99% in the Spanish company Campofrío, of which it is the main shareholder.
